CultureGro™ Human Oncostatin M (209 a.a.)

$515.00

Oncostatin M (OSM) is a multifunctional growth and differentiation factor involved in regulating neurogenesis, osteogenesis, and hematopoiesis. It is produced by activated T cells, monocytes, and Kaposi’s sarcoma cells, exerting both stimulatory and inhibitory effects on cell proliferation. OSM stimulates the growth of fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, and Kaposi’s sarcoma cells, while it inhibits the proliferation of certain normal and tumor cell lines. Additionally, OSM promotes the release of cytokines like IL-6, GM-CSF, and G-CSF from endothelial cells and enhances low-density lipoprotein receptor expression in hepatoma cells. Structurally and functionally, OSM shares characteristics with LIF, IL-6, and CNTF. It is biologically active on murine cells.
