FGF-8 (FGF-8b) is a growth factor within the FGF family that binds to heparin. Proteins in this family are crucial for prenatal development, postnatal growth, and the regeneration of various tissues by stimulating cellular proliferation and differentiation. There are four known alternatively spliced forms of FGF-8: FGF-8A, FGF-8B, FGF-8E, and FGF-8F.
