SmartMCs PEGDA (Polyethylene Glycol Diacrylate) HyPEG diacrylate (PEGDA)

$342.00

A fully synthetic, fully defined hydrogel. PEGDA gives you total control over stiffness and permeability, without the biological variability of a natural-polymer hydrogel.

Synthetic photo-crosslinkable PEGDA hydrogel in three molecular weights, for bioprinting, defined 3D matrices, and composite hydrogel systems.

SKU SmartMCs Poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA) Hydrogel Category

Product Details

PEGDA is based on polyethylene glycol modified with acrylate groups, allowing fast and controlled light-based crosslinking. Smart MCs offers PEGDA in three molecular weights (PEGDA-400, PEGDA-600, PEGDA-1000), giving flexibility to tune mechanical properties and hydrogel structure.

PEGDA is often used as a biologically inert, highly controllable baseline, ideal for studying cell behavior without interference from the material itself. Because it does not naturally support cell attachment, it’s commonly modified with peptides or other biomolecules depending on the application. PEGDA-400 forms tighter, stiffer hydrogels with smaller mesh size; PEGDA-600 is a balanced, moderate option; PEGDA-1000 produces softer, more permeable hydrogels.

At room temperature, PEGDA may be liquid or semi-solid depending on molecular weight; higher molecular weight variants may need gentle warming before use.
